The standard 3 ft. above ground cover overlap basically is a bare minimum.
You can't just put swimming pool chemicals within the water if you need a clean pool, you want to put some effort into cleaning it too. Seal the cover on its position by owning a sturdy cable wire using a cover's cracks.
